Liquidizer is a Ruby Eye with the power to liquidize any object she touches. She was formerly a high-ranked member of the Syndicate, but recently left the organization.
Background[]
As Liquidizer is one of the most mysterious characters in the series, very little — next to none— of her background is known.
Liquidizer, a Category: Ruby Eye, was one of the earliest members of the Syndicate. On September 18, 2019, she sought out Transer, offering an invitation to join the organization. [1] Shortly afterwards, she became his mentor, teaching him combat and ability usage.
Liquidizer’s rank within the Syndicate is relatively high. As a “Mentor”, she is placed on the third rank, with only the Organizers and the Liaison above her.[2]
However, despite her high status in the Ruby Eye organization, Liquidizer claims to have never killed a single person.[3] This statement is somewhat backed by Yumiko, who asserts that Liquidizer has no confirmed victims.[4] Nonetheless, whether Liquidizer’s claim is true or not remains a mystery.
Appearance[]
Liquidizer has been shown to wear three disguises:
- Businesswoman — most prevalent earlier in the series, Liquidizer takes on the appearance of a businesswoman in her late twenties or early thirties
- Schoolgirl — more prevalent later in the series, Liquidizer dons a uniform and glasses, taking on the appearance of a high-school student
- Housewife — appearing only once, Liquidizer wears long coat and carries shopping bags, taking on the appearance of a housewife
Liquidizer’s true appearance is still unknown. Whether she was a businesswoman in her late twenties, a high-school girl in her late teens, or a middle-aged housewife before she became a Ruby Eye remains a mystery. However, she has been noted to look much younger when sleeping.[5]
In all of her disguises, Liquidizer retains her long dark brown hair and tall, slender build.
Personality[]
Liquidizer’s personality changes greatly throughout the series. When she had first appeared, she had had the air of a cold-blooded murderer, ruthlessly trapping Minoru and Suu within a solid block of concrete.
Later on, however, she is shown to develop affection for Transer, going to great lengths to save him from the SFD.
Finally, at the end of Volume 5, Liquidizer even travelled to Minoru’s school to hand him his schoolbag, which he had left in her car. Shortly afterwards, she willingly helped him seek out the rogue Jet Eye who had been plaguing the school with disease.
Third Eye[]
Abilities[]
Liquidizer has the ability to manipulate the Van der Waals intermolecular forces between molecules in any substance, essentially being able to liquidize or solidify anything she touches. Her senses also remain connected to the last object she liquifies.[6]
The power works a little differently in her left and right hands. Her right hand can be used to delay the activation of her abilities, allowing her to set liquidation traps from a long range. On the other hand, the characteristics of her left hand have not been explicitly explained, but it presumably contains the “normal” immediate liquidation power.[7]
Liquidizer is a master of her power, and is able to utilize it in the following ways:
- She can set objects on a “delayed liquidation” in which they only liquidize after a set amount of time or when a certain amount of pressure is applied. This allows her to set traps and whatnot
- She can liquidize the ends of bandages, allowing them to be put on tightly and easily
- She can extend the range of her liquidation ability to several feet away from her hands, allowing her to liquidize bullets shot at her. In guns with rifling (grooves in the barrel that cause the bullet to spin, giving it more power and accuracy), the molecules of the liquidized bullet will scatter away in all directions, rendering them harmless. However, this technique is weak against bullets with no rifling, as the liquidized bullet continues to fly forward without scattering.
- She can remotely liquidize objects from a large range away from her hands. For example, she can liquidize the ground below her enemies from dozens of meters away
- As her most advanced technique, she can liquidize objects from dozens of meters away, fling them at her enemies, and solidify them immediately afterwards. This ability is incredibly versatile:
- By liquidizing the ground beneath her opponent’s feet, pulling it up, and then solidifying it, she can pull sharp, rocky spikes out of the ground at will
- By liquidizing any object within a range of several dozen meters, she can make them shoot forward, solidify in midair, and form sharp spears that fly towards her opponents.
Detection Radius[]
Liquidizer’s detection radius has never been explicitly stated, but it should be absolutely massive given the enormous amount of atomic manipulation her ability uses.
Affiliation[]
Liquidizer was formerly a high-status member of the Syndicate. However, after cooperating with Isolator, Accelerator, and Divider from the Specialized Forces Division (SFD) and then being subsequently attacked by Lubricator, another high-status Executioner of the Syndicate, Liquidizer has presumably left the Ruby Eye organization. She is now unaffiliated with any organization.

Trivia[]
- Although she is a high-ranked member of the Syndicate, Liquidizer has allegedly never killed a single person
- In the Volume 5 afterward, Reki Kawahara wrote the following about Liquidizer:
In the past, I’ve gone around saying things like “I don’t like it when enemies turn into allies” and “I make my enemies extra-evil to make sure that doesn’t happen.” But in Liquidizer’s case, I always had a feeling that something might be different about her, so I kept wondering what would happen as I wrote. In the end, this is what happened, but you can’t exactly say they’ve fully become allies, so I think there will continue to be a lot of tension surrounding her activities in the future.
