The Specialized Forces Division (SFD) is a Jet Eye organization created to combat the murderous Ruby Eyes.
Overview[]
The SFD was created in the early October of 2019 by the Japanese government, mainly the mysterious 3E committee, to deal with the murder-prone Ruby Eyes that had appeared around the city. As such, all of its members are Jet Eyes.
The SFD is highly controversial in the upper levels of the government and may be abolished at the flip of a coin. [1] However, because many of the bureaucrats and politicians believe that they can use the SFD to their advantage in political conflicts, the organization is relatively independent and is rather free from control by the 3E division.[2]
Its members a paid a monthly salary. The first paycheck comes in cash, while all of the later ones are deposited into a confidential bank account.
Headquarters[]
The headquarters of the SFD is located on the side of a forest-lined road beyond a rusty iron gate. Outsiders cannot perceive the gate because of a memory barrier set by Chief Himi.
The building itself is a boxy, old, five-story apartment building. The lower four stories are used for living quarters (for the members), while the top floor is used for most of the SFD’s operations.
The top floor, which is reached by an elevator, is a single huge room that had had all of its interior walls removed, with a width of approximately 30 meters east-west and a length of 80 meters north-south for an area of 2400 square meters. Scattered about the enormous room like lonely islands are various miscellaneous sites:
- Television and speaker set
- Large sofa
- Bookshelf
- Dining table
At the western end of the room is laboratory in which Professor Riri does her research. On the other side of the room is a well-stocked kitchen which had been installed on DD’s request.[3]
